Donating for Gm Status.

Like Circa, I really or extremely disapprove of the idea of acquiring GM status through a simple donation.
Being a GM is for people who helps others and plays an important role to help the community. It isn't something you do when you receive something good in return for money.

Who just paid for GM

Donating to become GM is a terrible idea. People tend to get power hungry. Many will pay a few bucks to gain power. All it takes is for that person to get upset for some reason and go on a banning spree or give out stuff. It actually happened in my last server before it was closed due to the owner needing time for his personal life. Someone got upset and banned the whole server damn near. So it can happen. GM is something one should earn, unless they have experience. Let's face it, an experienced GM is someone you don't have to train, unlike someone who may have deserved it. But the biggest majority of the time that person that deserved it, will probably make a wonderful GM.

State your reason, I have trouble stating mine, because I suck at speech.

We don't even know if you have any GM experience. Rick can pat you on the back and go thanks, but he doesn't have to give you GM just because you donated.

You also can't lead those on by not giving them that position.They donated for that 'position'. A person can easily charge back a donation, and I doubt they'd care if they were banned because of a charge back. And yes you CAN charge back a donation, just have to know what to say and explain the situation.

Rick could easily turn around and say "Sorry, but I'm not going to give you that gift because I changed my mind about what gift to give you, instead you get this". When you donate, you are giving money to the server and nothing else. The gift is what it is, a gift. Of course that may be morally wrong because said person thought they were getting a different gift but it that light it's also rude to say a gift you are given is crap.

tl;dr - It is perfectly legal for donators who already donated $65 not to be given GM status, just perhaps not morally right.

We aren't referring to the Tos, dummy, we're referring to the principles of life.

i agree but isnt this what a donor title is for? and thats why we have donor point, maps and other features?

Anyways, IMO.. most people wouldn't donate if there weren't gifts...

there should be rewards, but lets be reasonable
