Just so none of you freak out although yes, technically, all that is between your butt and a metal intrusion is a piece of wood and some padding but it's unlikely to happen. Most believe that the kid was probably jumping up and down on the chair or something, especially that wouldn't help if the chair was old. It's not gonna happen with modern chairs, they have to live up to certain safety stuff.

Its in china. doubt it would be anywher else. Its like china's toys.. they break in an instance.

In my experience, since I am working in the metal industry (i can imagine that the components which caused the mess could actaully have been produced by our company), if you are working with old tools or machines or have dumb or lazy foremen there will be a bloody messy accident for sure.

And I am talkin from experience.....

But i guess everybody is right. The quality and security standards today are incredebil high.
Even if your chair is 10 or 20 twenty years old i wouldn't worry. I could even say
since they are so old they must be really good.
